If you’re looking for a reliable Vietnamese restaurant near Dangsan Station, Po Ong Nam is a solid choice.
This neighborhood spot is especially popular with office workers, so during lunch and dinner peak hours, you may encounter a short wait. In an area known for its competitive dining scene, a restaurant that consistently draws crowds has clearly earned its reputation. Dangsan is home to many discerning diners, and Pho Ong Nam stands out as one of the most dependable options.

🥢 Signature Dishes & What to Expect
1️⃣ Pho

The broth is clean and well-balanced, with aromatic spices that are present but not overpowering.
It’s flavorful yet light, making it an easy and satisfying meal.
Editor’s Comment
Pho portions here are quite generous. If you’re planning to try several dishes, it’s a good idea to order one and share. As someone who loves cilantro, I always ask for extra.
2️⃣ Bun Cha

Grilled pork with a subtle smoky aroma pairs beautifully with the sweet-and-sour dipping sauce.
If you’re searching for a proper bun cha experience in Dangsan, this is a safe and satisfying bet.
Editor’s Comment
Bun cha is my all-time favorite menu item. It’s delicious. Compared to the portions I used to have in the U.S., the serving size here is a bit smaller. However, in Korea it’s actually hard to find a place that does bun cha really well, and this spot delivers a very authentic, local Vietnamese flavor.
3️⃣ Banh Mi (Sandwich)
Crispy baguette, fresh vegetables, and savory fillings come together in a well-balanced sandwich.
It’s also a great takeaway option if you’re on the move.
Editor’s Comment
I’m a big fan of banh mi and have gone out of my way to try it in many different places. It’s good here too, but my personal top choice is a place in Mullae-dong. There’s a Vietnamese-owned shop there that I visit almost every month. Still, this one is definitely satisfying.
4️⃣ Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk

Editor’s Comment
Vietnamese condensed milk coffee is something I can never skip. After finishing your meal, you can grab a cup to go. Just outside the restaurant, there’s a tunnel that leads directly to the Han River Park. It’s a great spot to enjoy your coffee while taking in the river view. One small inconvenience, though: there are no trash bins outside the shop, so you may have to carry your empty cup with you until you find a place to dispose of it.
🌿 Atmosphere
- Bright and clean interior
- Comfortable table spacing
- Suitable for solo diners, dates, or small gatherings
Rather than heavily emphasizing a “street-style” vibe, the restaurant opts for a modern and neatly arranged space, making it comfortable and approachable.
Editor’s Comment
The staff are Vietnamese, and at least one of them speaks Korean very well, so ordering is not difficult at all. That actually adds to the charm—it feels like you’ve stepped into a small corner restaurant somewhere in Vietnam.
📍 Accessibility
- Within walking distance of Dangsan Station (Line 2 & Line 9)
- Close to Yeouido, popular with office workers
- Family-friendly on weekends
Dangsan has a surprisingly high density of good restaurants, and Po Ong Nam is often considered one of the most reliable choices in the area.

🍃 Things to Do After Your Meal
One of the best parts of dining in Dangsan is how easy it is to combine your meal with a relaxing walk or short sightseeing stop.
🌊 선유도공원 (Seonyudo Park)

This is the top recommendation for a post-meal stroll.
Seonyudo Park is a small island park on the Han River, created by renovating a former water treatment plant, which gives it a unique architectural character.
- Beautiful Han River views
- Excellent photo spots
- Highly recommended at sunset
Even a 20–30 minute walk here can be refreshing and relaxing.
🌉 양화대교 (Yanghwa Bridge)

Connecting Dangsan to the Seonyudo area, Yanghwa Bridge offers scenic river views.
In the evening, the Han River skyline and lights make it a pleasant place for photos and a quiet walk.
☕ Local Cafés in Dangsan
Between Dangsan Station and Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, you’ll find a number of independent cafés tucked away from the main roads.
If you prefer cozy, local coffee spots over large chains, this area is ideal for a relaxed dessert stop after your meal.
💡 Who Should Visit?
- Anyone looking for clean, approachable Vietnamese cuisine near Yeouido
- Diners who prefer balanced flavors without overly strong spices
- Couples seeking a casual dinner followed by a Han River walk
- Travelers exploring western Seoul neighborhoods
✨ Final Thoughts
Po Ong Nam isn’t flashy or trend-driven. Instead, it earns loyalty through consistent flavor and a comfortable dining experience.
Pair your meal here with a stroll through Seonyudo Park, and you’ll have a simple yet satisfying Dangsan outing that feels both local and refreshing.

If you walk up the bridge nearby, there’s a scenic viewpoint where you can see both Olympic-daero and Yeouido at the same time. It’s especially beautiful at sunset, when the sky changes color and the city lights begin to glow.
Inside the Han River Park, there’s also a path that leads up to a higher vantage point with an open view of the river and surrounding skyline. I highly recommend stopping by—it’s one of those small detours that makes the whole visit more memorable.
