Max Siedentopf is an artist and Emmy Award–winning director known for interpreting reality through humor and imagination. Freely navigating across various media, he explores absurdity, social satire, and human behavior through his distinctively witty lens.

His solo exhibition, Seriously Not Serious, is a journey through a series of constructed scenes created by the artist—an experience that balances humor and sincerity in subtle and unexpected ways. Rather than following a single linear narrative, the exhibition unfolds in an omnibus format, as if traveling through different stages and situations. Along the way, we are invited to reconsider human imperfection, vanity, contradiction, and fragility—seen anew through the language of humor.

Max’s world offers more than laughter. His humor is both a question and an attitude—a way of securing the necessary distance to avoid taking the world too seriously. With a mischievous twist on reality, we welcome you into the distinctive universe of Max Siedentopf.

“Once something becomes too serious, it becomes interesting to disrupt.”

The fastest way to get there is to exit Seoul Station (Line 1), Exit 4. (1 minute distance)
However, if you’re already exploring Namdaemun Market or walking around Myeongdong, it’s much more convenient to simply walk rather than taking the subway again.
